Where did May go? I think I blinked and it flew by. My
writing has taken a boost though, so I’m happy. Everything else is being
ignored but the muse is talking at a hundred miles an hour. I’m afraid to buy
her a muzzle. She would chew through it, then bite me.
And now for Carol Kilgore's Secrets of Honor cover reveal! Isn't it gorgeous?
Blurb:
By the end of a long evening working as a special set of
eyes for the presidential security detail, all Kat Marengo wants is to kick off
her shoes and stash two not-really-stolen rings in a secure spot. Plus, maybe
sleep with Dave Krizak. No, make that definitely
sleep with Dave Krizak. The next morning, she wishes her new top priorities
were so simple.
As an operative for a covert agency buried
in the depths of the Department of Homeland Security, Kat is asked to participate in a matter of life or
death—locate a kidnapped girl believed to be held in Corpus Christi, Texas. Since
the person doing the asking is the wife of the president and the girl is the
daughter of the first lady’s dearest friend, it’s hard to say no.
Kat and Dave quickly learn
the real stakes are higher than they or the first lady believed and will require
more than any of them bargained for.
The kicker? They have twenty-four hours to find the girl—or
the matter of life or death will become more than a possibility.
About Carol:
Carol writes
grocery lists, texts to her family, new lyrics to old songs for her dogs, love
notes to her husband, and novels for herself. And for you. In between, she
blogs weekly at Under the Tiki Hut and is active on Facebook and Twitter.
She sees
mystery and subterfuge everywhere. And she’s a sucker for a good love
story—especially ones with humor and mystery. Crime Fiction with a Kiss
gives her the latitude to mix and match throughout the broad mystery and
romance genres. Having flexibility makes her heart happy.

Happy dances from this corner of the blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled that your muse has taken her vitamins and, with teeth and claws at the ready, is talking loudly and often to you. I suspect that if you listen in the fullness of time she will nap - and allow you a brief respite as well.
And I have seen Carol's stunning cover everywhere - and wish her (and all writers) a heap of success - and a hunger for more.
Maybe if I send Jez over to visit you, EC, I can catch a nap. Quantities of punch would travel with her, of course. ;)
DeleteCarol's cover rocks! The colors really pop.
Looks great, Carol!
ReplyDeleteYes, May was a blur. But I was writing, so a happy blur. That's all we can ask for, right?
Happy blurs are always welcome, Alex. :)
DeleteRiver, May indeed zoomed by. Sheesh. Glad to hear you're back on track and with a talkative muse!
ReplyDeleteCarol, the cover is really eye-catching and the blurb caught my *I wanna read* interest. :-)
Sia McKye Over Coffee
I'm happy with the muse, too, Sia!
DeleteCarol's book looks awesome!
Yay! Thank you, Sia.
DeleteI'm happy your muse is extra chatty. I wish mine was chatty. I wouldn't mind hearing her babbles. :)
ReplyDeleteFeed her some dark information, Chrys. She'll babble. ;)
DeleteI feel the same way about May. Oh, heck, the whole year. That's what happens when we're busy. :) Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Diane. It is the whole year! :)
DeleteOoh! First, I LOVE Carol's new cover. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, YAY FOR YOUR MOTOR-MOUTHING MUSE! I never sleep when the muse is on the move. I keep getting pulled away to edit, or my Muse might be overrunning my night again...
The motor-mouth is wearing me out, Crystal!
DeleteCarol's cover rocks!
Yay for CK! Love her cover.
ReplyDeleteYour muse needs to kick mine's arse. Big time. Glad to see you're staying busy and productive.
It's an awesome cover, Jay!
DeleteMy muse will gladly beat up your muse anytime. She likes to rumble... ;)
Yay for Carol! I've been busy, but not doing all that I want to do. I'm already counting down the days til summer's end when I get my daily writing time back!
ReplyDeleteCarol's cover has been shining everywhere, Christine!
DeleteYes, writing with a child standing on your feet is tough. Here's to fall! :)
Hi River,
ReplyDeleteI'm exhausted and struggling to keep up. And now just when I desperately try to catch up, the "I Was Seeking Gary" theme post is all over the place. I'm grateful in a tired way :)
I'm encouraged for you, River. Penny pawdicts great things for you. I'm busy trying to find a balance, or a clone in the blogging world. Help!
Good to see the lovable Carol featured on your lovable site. She, just like you, rocks!
Goodnight......
Gary
Hi Gary and Penny! Yes, Carol rocks and thank you for including me in the rocks department. I'd like to be a diamond. They're hard and durable.
DeleteI hear ya about keeping up. If you find any clones lying around, throw a couple my way. I sure could use them.
Don't struggle. Sleep. The internet won't go anywhere without you. Everybody's zombified anyway and no one is moving very fast. ;)
Hi, River.
ReplyDeleteJust plugging along. First rejection today... BUMMER. But it's all part of the fun.... HA! LOL..
Happy to hear your writing muse is chatty... I wish mine was. I guess he's on vacation... LOL.
CONGRATS to Carol... Awesome cover!
Hi, Michael. A writer's life is certainly a roller coaster trip of highs and lows! Your muse should come back refreshed and garrulous after the vacation. :) Keep plugging!
DeleteMy muse is getting back on track. Glad yours is rocking. Major congrats to Carol!
ReplyDeleteMary, your muse has been singing for quite a while now. Carry on! :)
DeleteThanks for sharing my cover!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you and your muse are back on speaking terms. You create beautiful music together.
Any time, Carol! Your books are worth sharing.
DeleteThanks...huh, you do know you're talking about Jezebel and beautiful music in the same sentence, right? ;)
Ooh, wouldn't it be great if they had voice to text translation for muses? Then you could attach the device instead of the muzzle!
ReplyDeleteIt would be, Loni, except my muse is perverse. If I tried it, she'd start speaking in her native language. I'd have to go to the Underworld demon marketplace to get it translated. *shudder*
Deletethe question of where did May go gets me anxious. I have no idea. If you ask me what I did, I don't think I remember. I should keep a diary. I have a vague memory of being in some mountain, sipping coffee. Sounds familiar? Bolita!
ReplyDeleteSipping coffee on the mountain sounds quite familiar, Al. I think we have a habit of running up it every day. Keeping a diary around goats doesn't work. They will eat it. ;)
DeleteBolita to you, my friend, and I hope you're feeling better!
