Dance
“You've gotta dance like there's nobody
watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”
― William W. Purkey
Daring
“We have to dare to be ourselves, however
frightening or strange that self may prove to be.”― May Sarton
I'm also over at Untethered Realms today for "D" day, introducing the Dreean from my Jewels of Chandra series. Stop on by and find out a bit about my fantasy creature!

Goodness you are busy today - and yes, I will wander over to Untethered Realms too.
ReplyDeleteLove that cat.
It is better for all concerned if no-one IS watching me dance. Which doesn't stop some wobbly expressions of glee.
Hi EC! Expressions of glee are beauty personified, regardless of wobble...unless you step on a cat's tail. Then all bets are off.
DeleteYes, today is a wee bit busy!
If I'm dancing, I hope no one is watching!
ReplyDeleteYou can't be that bad, Alex!
DeleteI danced like no one was watching. My court date is next week. :D
ReplyDeleteBwahaha! Love it, JoJo! I'll be a character witness...if you really think that will help...
DeleteI'm totally with this kitty today. Storms and a scared dog kept me up most of the night! And I second Alex about the dancing. I really am that bad LOL.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to this cat today too, Julie...especially if she's screaming... ;)
DeleteHope you don't mind but I'm sending folks over here, I put a link on my page to try and get those awful images out of their head. Love the post!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yolanda! I will be watching for the folks scratching their eyes out. :D
DeleteI do have to admit I LOVE your theme...strictly in a writerly sense, of course... *crosses fingers behind back*
Hey human, River,
ReplyDeleteMy human dances like an old dude at a wedding. And he thinks he's John Travolta.
I certainly am myself. Yes, the lovable Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! :)
I'm sure you're an awesome dancer, Penny, and your human, Gary, probably ain't so bad either. ;)
DeleteI start to dance, and suddenly nobody is watching. In fact, they're studiously avoiding any eye contact with me.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see that quote, I always think of the Dilbert strip: "Dance like it hurts. Love like you need the money. Work when people are watching."
LOL! I hadn't seen that Dilbert strip, Lynda. Thanks for sharing it!
DeleteI've always loved Purkey's quote! And it's so true!
ReplyDeleteIt really is the recipe for a happy life, Michael!
DeleteMay Sarton is one of my favorites. I love what she wrote about being alone as the only time we are truly ourselves.
ReplyDeleteIt's a sad truth, Lee. We should always feel like we can be ourselves! Maybe that's why I'm always alone... ;)
DeleteAs Patty Larkin sang: "Might as well dance"
ReplyDeleteAnd really love the May Sarton quote.
Might as well, Kevin! Sarton is another truth in life. Shall we dare to dance and combine the two? ;)
Deletei am too dancing... one step at a time, thank you for being the angels and all the excellent help.
ReplyDeletejeremy
Yes you are, Jeremy! I hope you heal with all haste. :)
Deletedance till you drop :p Lol cute blog
ReplyDeleteI'll drop as long as the floor's soft, Enchantress! Thanks! :)
DeleteI'm like most of your commenters, River. Whenever I dare to dance, I hope like hell nobody is watching. I love your quotes, though.
ReplyDeleteEh, who cares if they're watching, Ron! That's the great thing about getting older - doing as you damn well please. ;)
DeleteI always dance like no one is watching. Art club hosted a high school dance (while I was president). It just was me and my vice pres for the first hour or so. I took full advantage of the DJ. My vice looks at me and said, "I wish I was where you are."
ReplyDeleteYou have an awesome attitude, Loni! I'm not surprised though, reading your wild adventure on your blog. ;)
DeleteI get to dance that way with my kid. He's got more rhythm than I do! :)
ReplyDeleteChildren make such great dance partners, Christine! Their joy shines in movement. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm glad I read your post. The interesting thing is that my post for D was on dare. I just used a different writhing style. All the best withe the challenge. # theawsomedish
ReplyDeleteHi P Lusamba! We must be daring people. :)
DeleteOMG-Love the pussy cat together with the Dance-The cat must have danced a lot! I agree-we always need to dance
ReplyDeleteBirgit - The cat is STILL dancing too. Can't get him to slow down. ;)
