N Is For...

N is for…

Nonsense
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”― Ralph Waldo Emerson

It's another group posting day over at Untethered Realms. We'll be discussing what New Creature each of us would like to write about. Come on over and let me know what you think of mine!

  1. I have a weakness for nonsense - it often makes more sense than its pompous big brother.

    1. Ain't that the truth, EC! Plus, it's generally more fun than the pompous ass. ;)

    1. Some days I have to remind myself of that before I get out of bed, Alex, but it's true! :)

  3. Hey River,

Today is only yesterday's tomorrow. I rejoice in nonsense and that makes sense. Well, to me it does....

  4. I wish I could forget the things that happened yesterday and the day before, but they definitely spill over into today. I'm in a bad spot right now and trying to fight through. I'm hoping my fresh start will be tomorrow or even the next day. :)

    1. Would you like the cat to come over and give you a kick in the right direction, Chrys? Or maybe share a sardine with you? Hope your day improves swiftly!

  5. I'm like Elephant's Child: I have a weakness for nonsense. Better to laugh off those silly mistakes and get on with a new day. Great quote.

  6. Yay for Emerson. I have to remember this quote so I can get some sleep at night! Off to see what creature you might be up to writing about.

    1. It would be worth remembering as I drop off to sleep, Lee. Thanks for mentioning that and happy creature hunting!

  7. A bit of nonsense in a day makes it more interesting. It reminds me not to take things too seriously.

    1. I can bring over a can of silly string, Loni! Do they even make that stuff anymore? It probably has some warning label on it now - "Warning, child can suffer from too much fun while using" or some such nonsense. ;)

    2. They do still have it. Bought a can for my daughter. :D
