P Is For...

P is for…

Pretend
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”― Kurt Vonnegut

Planning

“If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.”― E.B. White

And, of course, P also stands for Punch. ;)

  2. I plan to revel in that punch. EB White was a much better person that I am. Seductive world? Yes. Yearn to improve it? Some days. Yearn to use a small nuclear device on segments of it? Yes. Oops.

    1. Well, yes, EC. I did think he left the "wanting to deconstruct the world in some way" out of his positive quote. Some days I want to go out and destroy something. ;)

    2. "...small nuclear device"?

I love sneaky cats. I have yet, however, to try the punch. That may be for the best. :)

    3. Of course a small nuclear device. Moderation in all things. Except Jezebel's punch - which is delicious. And addictive.

    4. You should try it sometime, Kevin...after you've enclosed yourself in a small, padded room, of course. ;)

  3. Improve or enjoy? That is a tough one.

    1. You know Chrys, since that big whoopla last year over posting photos on blogs, I've gotten all of mine from Wikimedia. For whatever reason, they have a ton of them. You should post your kitty pictures! I'd love to see them. :)

  7. Hee hee! I love that kitty image, and the quotes are epic. I agree we fake it until we make it, but some days I just want to sleep in. =)

    1. Hi Penny! I prefer Underworld punch to Hawaiian. ;)
I think your pawtend human, Gary, would make an excellent character in your bark!

  12. My brother used to mock me and my friends when we were younger, because we always wanted to play "pretend". Maybe that's why I have such an active imagination and he doesn't. :)
